I have worked in the field of English Language Teaching for many years both in the UK at Edinburgh University and Oxford Brookes University and overseas at the University of Papua New Guinea. My experience has spanned many areas of ELT including teacher training and business English. I am concerned with access to education and two of my main research areas have been women's access to education and the development of academic writing competence.
